As a global leading chemical company, BASF has an ambition to create chemistry for a sustainable future. Consequently, the company has a strong focus on circular economy and, in particular, technical innovation and recycling. The circular economy is increasingly high on the agenda globally and not least in Brussels, which increasingly appears as one of ​​the world’s strongest driving forces in this field. It is also moving up on the agenda in the Nordic region, but still lacks the strong political attention and support that the wider green energy agenda deserves.

The solution consisted of a public affairs roadmap that aimed to clarify the objectives for the company’s PA activities and define the overall focus for BASF. The roadmap was developed on the basis of a large number of interviews and in collaboration with selected key persons in the organisation by way of workshops.

With a strategic roadmap, BASF got a comprehensive overview in relief of the political situation of the company’s opportunities and its relevance. This has created a clear and focused direction for the further work to increase Denmark’s efforts for the circular economy and strengthen BASF’s position on the green market.
