With a new industry strategy, the Danish Association of Architectural Firms (Danske Ark) has clarified their ambitions by embracing the professional characteristics and the political and market competences that the profession of architect contains.
The Danish Association of Architectural Firms is a professional organisation the purpose of which is to make the architect profession visible and promote new business opportunities. As a professional organisation with approximately 750 member companies, the Danish Association of Architectural Firms experienced a need to clarify their ambitions on a new strategic journey. A journey from a primarily professionally oriented approach to a necessary professionalism and new maturity that focuses on the professional characteristics and the political and market competences that the architecture industry contains.
The Danish Association of Architectural Firms has developed a new purpose-driven industry strategy ‘We are building a sustainable future’, which will fuel the professional organisation’s strategic ambitions – from 2022-2026. The initiative must ensure that the strategy does not become closed around the industry itself, but instead elevates its unredeemed competences.
Successful companies, organisations and industries have always been characterised by having a higher purpose. This is the driving force for the members of the Danish Association of Architectural Firms and thus also the ambition with the new industry strategy. The strategy has contributed to strengthening the Danish Association of Architectural Firms’ professional identity, social relevance and market value creation.
The Danish Association of Architectural Firms safeguards and represents the commercial interests of architectural firms and is in close dialogue with the political system, public authorities, developers and contractors in order to create optimal framework conditions for architects’ opportunities to conduct business and create architecture with added value.
