The Danish Society for Nature Conservation

Through a political stakeholder analysis, the Danish Society for Nature Conservation (DN) was able to develop a clear strategic framework for the political work, which makes the association’s priorities even clearer.

In short

Situation

The Danish Society for Nature Conservation (DN) is Denmark’s largest green organisation with 130,000 members and over 1,500 volunteers. It is a particularly active political player in the municipalities and nationally. But the association has the potential and desire for even higher ambitions. A strengthened and clear strategic framework is therefore needed for the political work, which makes the association’s priorities even clearer.

Solution

In order to realize DN’s full potential, we carried out involving strategy work at Substantia, including a political stakeholder analysis for the society, which contributes to their continued political work. The analysis determined, among other things, the society’s strategic profile and position in society as well as their political protection of interests and proposals for improving this.

Results

The analysis helped to realize the society’s full potential, especially within political protection of interests, by laying the stepping stones for the new strategy.

Description

As Denmark’s largest green organisation, the Danish Society for Nature Conservation works every day for a richer natural world, a cleaner environment and a sustainable future. One gets close to nature through local events with experiences and learning for Danish families, and one gets close to nature when it is defended, preserved and protected in national as well as local political contexts.
